Answer
Yes on town services 1 to 30, if you are paying by cash, as drivers don’t carry change. Notes must be shown unfolded to the driver. Please take and check your ticket and have it ready for inspection.
On services outside Swindon the right cash is also required. Drivers are usually able to supply coins to enable you to pay the exact fare, although your assistance in having the correct fare is appreciated.

How to buy your ticket on an exact fare bus

How to buy your ticket on an exact fare bus
| 1 | On boarding the bus, tell the driver your destination and he will tell you the fare. |
| 2 | Place the exact fare in the cash vault next to the driver and use coins wherever possible. Notes must be shown to the driver first then placed in the vault. |
| 3 | The driver will check that you have paid the correct fare and issue you a ticket. |
| 4 | Please take your ticket and keep it throughout your journey and keep it ready for inspection. |
Drivers have no access to the sealed cash vault and are unable to give change.

Up to 4 children under the age of five can travel free with a fare-paying adult.
There’s a reduced fare for children between their 5th and 16th birthdays available up to 2200 daily, but Citizen Cards are required over the age of 13 in order to obtain this fare.
If you’re in full time education between 16 and 19 you can buy a monthly Student TravelPass at our Travel Shop.
Of course you can! Most of our buses have buggy zones where you can just wheel buggy and baby to a special area.
On occasions when the zone gets full or there’s a customer in a wheelchair, your driver will ask you whether you’d prefer to fold down the buggy or wait for the next bus.
We are rapidly modernising our bus fleet and already 80% of local bus services are operated using wheelchair-friendly fully accessible buses, a figure that’s growing every year.
All our drivers have been fully trained to operate the ramps – so come on board, you’re welcome!
It is not possible to carry some of the very large electric wheelchairs and electric scooters for safety reasons.
Yes, a dog on a lead can travel for a flat fare of 50p.
Guide, hearing and assistance dogs accompanying disabled people travel free of charge.
No. All our vehicles are non-smoking.
We also like to keep our buses clean and fresh for customers, so we don’t allow hot or smelly food or drink to be consumed on the bus.
Press the bell push on the handrail nearest you in good time.
A sign at the front will say ‘Bus Stopping’ if the bell has already been pushed.
Our buses are very safe places, and most now have sophisticated digital CCTV systems.
Contact us immediately and we’ll do our best to retrieve your lost property.
If we find it, you can collect it from our Travel Shop in Fleming Way.

We plan our services so that you should be able to get a seat in normal circumstances.
Sometimes during peak periods you may have to stand for a short period. Please be really helpful and move down the bus when standing, leaving the gangway at the front clear for others to get on and off.
